State Requirements

Upon successful completion of our program, students are granted a diploma certifying they have completed either 850 or 550 hours of massage therapy training. This diploma is NOT a license to practice massage therapy.

Professional licensing requirements for graduates in the State of Colorado are governed by the State of Colorado Department of Regulatory Agency (DORA). Specifically, all Massage Therapists in Colorado must meet the requirements stated in the Colorado Massage Therapy Rules and Regulations 3-CCR-772-1. An applicant for registration in Colorado must attain a degree, diploma, or otherwise successfully complete a massage therapy program that consists of at least five hundred (500) total hours of course work and clinical work from an approved massage school.

A graduate can apply to the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agency (DORA) to schedule and satisfactorily pass the following examination:

The massage and bodywork licensing examination (MBLEX) offered by the Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards
